At the olive factory in Tavira, olives from local producers are processed. To keep the original flavours, only water and salt are used to preserve them.

The olive factory has a long history. It was started by Hélder Madeira in 1986 in Tavira, where it has remained until today. In his youth he was invited to work in a mill, where he developed a passion for processing olives. In the past, the preservation and conservation of olives was done in a more rudimentary way (using clay and wooden pots to preserve them). The packaging techniques were very different from the ones used today. Helder Madeira’s infrastructure started in a very simple way, with the manufacturing site starting in a space of 35m². Over the years this space has increase and today it is over 1500 m².
